Richard O'Brien, an out of work actor at the time, wrote <i>The Rocky Horror Show<\/i>, originally called <i>They Came From Denton High<\/i>, to keep himself busy; something I think we can all relate to thanks to a year of quarantine. <br>\n<Br>\nO\u2019Brien describes the show. \u201cThe plot and dialogue for <i>The Rocky Horror Show<\/i>  are raids on populist things: from advertising, from comics, from B movies, from sci-fi. The show ran through September of 1980 (moving to several locations during its time). It debuted in the US in Los Angeles in 1974 and had a nine month run, but its Broadway debut wasn\u2019t as successful, lasing only 45 full performances. <br><bR>\nIt was adapted into the film <i>The Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/i>  in 1975 with Tim Curry reprising the role of Frank-N-Furter, which he originated on stage.  The film still runs today, making it longest-running release in film history. <br>\n<\/p>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-b29215b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"b29215b\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-4ede2ed\" data-id=\"4ede2ed\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa1ab5f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"aa1ab5f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Richard O'Brien has described the lead character, Frank, as a combination of Vlad the Impaler and Cruella De Vil. Once some fans came up to me and said: &#8216;Did you leave the gaps between the lines so that we the audience could say our lines?&#8217; I said, &#8216;Well, ok yes.&#8217; But no we didn\u2019t. The movie is a very surreal, almost dreamlike journey, the live show is far more rock and roll.\u201d<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>At the more than capable hands of the multi-talented Shain Stroff, our production of <em>The Rocky Horror Show<\/em> should prove to be everything the original creators imagined it to be.
